WORDSPYRE — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
What the game stores on your device
WORDSPYRE saves a small amount of data locally so your progress and preferences survive closing the app. This is held in your device's own browser storage and is never uploaded anywhere.
- Your run in progress — the stage, score, letters and glyphs you are carrying
- Your overall progress — wins, unlocked glyphs, unlocked themes and personal bests
- Your settings — music volume, sound volume, vibration and screen shake
- Your chosen theme and colour palette
- A short history of recent in-game events (the last 60), used only to fill in a bug report if you choose to send one
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Nothing is kept anywhere else, so nothing survives that.
What the game does not do
- It does not ask for a name, an email address or an account
- It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location
- It does not show ads unless you choose to watch one for a reward — there are no banners, no pop-ups and no ads between stages
- It does not use analytics, tracking pixels or third-party trackers of its own
- It does not sell your data, and never sends your progress or bug history anywhere
Rewarded ads
WORDSPYRE offers optional rewarded ads — for example, watching one to revive a lost run or to refill your shop rerolls. Nothing is ever shown unless you tap the button that asks for it, and declining costs you nothing but the reward.
These ads are served by Google AdMob. To choose and measure an ad, AdMob may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, device type, operating system version, coarse location derived from your IP address, and whether you finished watching. This is collected by Google, not by us — we never see it, and it is not joined to anything the game stores on your device. What Google does with it is covered by Google's Privacy & Terms and AdMob's policies.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in Android under Settings → Google → Ads, which also lets you opt out of personalised advertising.
Reporting a bug
The game has a Report a Bug button. Using it is entirely your choice. If you tap it, the game shows you a summary of your current game state — things like the stage you were on, your score, and which glyphs you had — and offers to open a Google Form in your browser so you can send it to us along with a description of what went wrong.
Nothing is sent unless you open that form and submit it yourself. You can see exactly what the summary contains before you send it, and you can copy it instead of sending it. If you do submit the form, your response is handled by Google Forms under Google's privacy policy.
Children
WORDSPYRE is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children specifically. Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever starts doing something this page does not describe — for example if online leaderboards are added in a future version — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Rewarded ads were added in version 1.10.0 and this page was updated before that version shipped.
